26 de septiembre de 2025—El dúo lisboeta MXGPU, proyecto colaborativo del innovador electrónico Moullinex y el cantante y productor GPU Panic, lanza hoy su esperado álbum debut, SUDDEN LIGHT, vía Discotexas. Una audaz declaración de identidad, el disco captura la singular visión de la pareja para la música electrónica inmersiva, emotiva y revolucionaria.
Con el sencillo «Into Flames» como eje central, SUDDEN LIGHT combina baladas íntimas, paisajes cinematográficos de sintetizadores e himnos catárticos para la pista de baile. Construida sobre voces crudas y sinceras y exuberantes texturas analógicas, «Into Flames» destila la filosofía del proyecto: encontrar la belleza en la vulnerabilidad y la trascendencia a través de la conexión.
«Into Flames» fue la última canción que terminamos para el álbum. Fueron muchas idas y venidas, con muchas formas y tamaños diferentes, hasta que llegamos a esta versión. Quizás por eso, su sonido es probablemente el que más conectamos con «SUDDEN LIGHT». Temáticamente, trata sobre enamorarse perdidamente de alguien y no poder contener esos sentimientos por más tiempo. -MXGPU
El álbum es un viaje a través de diversos terrenos sonoros: el favorito de los fans, «take me home», fusiona synthwave con electrónica en un himno catártico que rápidamente se convirtió en un clásico en vivo; «find u» se adentra en el drum & bass líquido con un toque crudo y experimental; mientras que «slow down» captura el lado meditativo del proyecto con voces susurrantes y un ritmo hipnótico. Entre los nuevos temas destacados se incluyen la eufórica «ease» (con Malou), el pulso impulsivo de «the fall», la tensión nocturna de «shout in the dark» y la reflexión final «symptom of u». The release follows last night’s Sudden Light release party in Lisbon, where MXGPU celebrated the album’s release in their trademark 360° live format featuring an immersive staging that places the audience at the center. Surrounded by sci-fi visuals, James Turrell-inspired lighting, and walls of sound shaped by Moog, Arturia, Teenage Engineering, and Dreadbox gear, the night encapsulated the duo’s vision of dissolving the boundary between performer and audience.

In October, MXGPU will bring their world across the Atlantic for the first time, making their U.S. live debut with headline shows at Silo (Brooklyn, Oct 2) and The Roxy Theatre (Los Angeles, Oct 4). Additional tour dates across Europe and beyond will follow, marking the start of an expansive new chapter for the duo.

ABOUT MXGPU

Moullinex (Luís Clara Gomes) has released four albums on Discotexas, remixed Cut Copy’s “Lights & Music” (#1 on Beatport), and been profiled in Clash, Future Music, and Dezeen for his early use of AI visuals. GPU Panic (Guilherme Tomé Ribeiro), a Red Bull Music Academy alum, has released on Get Physical, Watergate, and TAU, with support from RÜFÜS DU SOL and Keinemusik’s &ME. As MXGPU, they’ve brought their live show to Primavera Porto, NOS Alive, Wonderfruit, and sold out their debut shows at MAAT in Lisbon and Casa da Música in Porto, among several pop-ups in wild locations.
