Beauty and the Bus? Sounds like a stretch, yet for all-live melodic/electronic trio Tinlicker, and producer/longtime friend & collaborator Helsloot, thousands of miles touring Europe in said vehicle saw them co-composing their gorgeously haunting yet danceable new collab single ‘Edge Of Forever’, out now on Remember The Future/[PIAS].

But then, when Tinlicker (aka NL’s Jordi & Micha + more recently UK’s Hero Baldwin), and Helsloot’s previous collabtracks have been such timeless successes, including ‘Because You Move Me’ (1 billion streams alone) and ‘Tell Me’ also with Hero (50mil+),the omens look good for the new cut.

Tinlicker have been touring EU/UK with their fourth album, ‘Dreams Of The Machine’ winning hearts & minds with their live performances of LP tracks ranging from high-energy dance fuel to portentous dub techno, to acid-drenched monster drops, to singing indie guitar, to 90s synth and more, with Hero’s heartfelt voice, all with diamond-sharp sound production, with Netherlander Helslootsupporting on tour, delivering deep, melodic house spiked with techno and disco.

‘Edge Of Forever’: deep/melodic house supplies layered emotive vocals topped by Hero’s beautiful haunting voice throughout, underpinned by a gentle breaksy beat behind pulsating reverb-rich basslines & melodic synth chords, speeding up into dance-frenzy peppered with staccato echoing stabs while the vocals soar soulfully above.

‘The guys were noodling around while I was looking through the great sweep of glass at the front of the bus, the landscape passing almost imperceptibly beneath us. There is something contemplative about travelling in that way; cities, towns and villages drift past, fields give way to forests, and before long you find yourself less aware of the places themselves than the quiet passage of time between them. Later Thomas (Helsloot) and I listened back to what had been started on the bus, pressed record and the lyric and melody emerged intact in a single take.’ Hero Baldwin

Upcoming North American 21-date Tour: come mid-September, the four artists will be touring NA, covering 9000 miles in their faithful bus together with their 250-piece live show set-up and full crew (see below for where/when).

Seeing the dawn after working through the night. Silently looking out the front of the bus with people who have become family. These moments scarcely register beside the scale of our ambitions, yet possess a completeness. They ask nothing of us except our attention. ¿La Bella y la Bestia en el Autobús? Suena exagerado, pero para el trío melódico/electrónico en directo Tinlicker, y el productor, amigo y colaborador de toda la vida Helsloot, miles de kilómetros recorriendo Europa en dicho vehículo les permitieron componer juntos su nuevo single, una colaboración preciosa, evocadora y a la vez bailable: «Edge Of Forever», ya disponible en Remember The Future/[PIAS].

Pero claro, teniendo en cuenta el éxito atemporal de las anteriores colaboraciones de Tinlicker (también conocidos como Jordi & Micha de los Países Bajos y, más recientemente, Hero Baldwin del Reino Unido) y Helsloot, incluyendo «Because You Move Me» (con mil millones de reproducciones) y «Tell Me», también con Hero (más de 50 millones), el futuro se presenta prometedor para este nuevo tema.

Tinlicker ha estado de gira por Europa y Reino Unido con su cuarto álbum, ‘Dreams Of The Machine’, conquistando corazones y mentes con sus actuaciones en directo de temas que van desde la energía bailable hasta el dub techno premonitorio, pasando por potentes drops ácidos, guitarra indie melódica, synth de los 90 y mucho más, todo ello con la emotiva voz de Hero y una producción de sonido impecable. El neerlandés Helsloot les acompaña en la gira, ofreciendo deep house melódico con toques de techno y disco.

«Edge Of Forever»: deep house melódico con voces emotivas superpuestas, coronadas por la hermosa y evocadora voz de Hero, sustentado por un suave ritmo breaksy tras líneas de bajo pulsantes y ricas en reverberación, y acordes de sintetizador melódicos. La canción acelera hasta convertirse en un frenesí bailable salpicado de stabs staccato y eco, mientras la voz se eleva con sentimiento.

«Los chicos estaban improvisando mientras yo miraba a través del gran ventanal delantero del autobús, el paisaje desfilando casi imperceptiblemente bajo nosotros. Viajar así tiene algo de contemplativo; ciudades, pueblos y aldeas pasan fugazmente, los campos dan paso a los bosques, y pronto te das cuenta de que eres menos consciente de los lugares en sí que del silencioso transcurso del tiempo entre ellos. Próxima gira norteamericana de 21 fechas: A mediados de septiembre, los cuatro artistas estarán de gira por Norteamérica, recorriendo 9000 millas en su fiel autobús junto con su equipo de 250 músicos y todo el personal técnico (ver más abajo para conocer las fechas y lugares).
