Up first, Acid Pauli opens the release with his spellbinding interpretation of “Powerful Play”, unfolding the track into a fluid, organic and richly textured journey. Rather than adhering to a fixed structure, the remix moves in waves, built from shifting layers, fragmented melodic ideas and subtle rhythmic detail. It feels alive and unforced, constantly evolving as it moves between introspective passages and more kinetic moments, reimagining the original as something open-ended and truly immersive.
Long known for his boundary-pushing DJ sets and instinctive approach to music making, Acid Pauli continues to operate in a space where improvisation, psychedelia and electronic production meet. His work often resists definition;instead favouring atmosphere, movement and emotional instinct. That same sensibility drives this remix, which transforms Monolink’s original into a living, breathing piece of sound design that feels both grounded and free-flowing.
On the flip, the EP closes with Steve Bug’s interpretation of “Promised Land”, a precise and deeply focused rework that draws its power from restraint. Stripping the original back to its essential elements, he builds a steady, hypnotic framework where groove and subtle acid detail do much the heavy lifting. The result is understated yet commanding, unfolding with a controlled momentum that reflects his long-standing approach to functional, emotionally intelligent club music.
Concluding a remarkably diverse remix series, this final release brings together two artists who approach sound from very different ends of the spectrum, yet arrive at a shared sense of depth and intention. From Acid Pauli’s organic, free-flowing interpretation of “Powerful Play” to Steve Bug’s focused and hypnotic rework of “Promised Land”, the EP captures the range and adaptability of Monolink’s songwriting, revealing how each composition can shift shape without losing its emotional core.

About Acid Pauli
Acid Pauli (Martin Gretschmann) has spent more than two decades moving between club culture, experimental composition and live performance, building a reputation for unpredictability and emotional depth in equal measure. Emerging from early projects such as Console and his time with The Notwist, he later developed the Acid Pauli alias as a space for more fluid and exploratory expression. His work often blurs the line between DJ set, live performance and collage-like storytelling, incorporating influences from global music traditions, psychedelia and acoustic instrumentation. Whether performing at clubs, festivals or unconventional spaces, his focus remains on spontaneity and connection through sound.
About Steve Bug
Steve Bug is a defining figure in European house and techno, known for his understated but highly influential approach to production, DJing and label curation. As the founder of Poker Flat and Sublease Music, he has played a central role in shaping the sound of modern underground dance music while maintaining a strong focus on quality and longevity over trends. His productions favour clarity, groove and restraint, drawing from house, techno and minimal traditions without being confined by any of them. Alongside a global DJ career spanning more than two decades, his output reflects a consistent dedication to functional yet expressive electronic music built for both club systems and long listening.
